How YOU can help L.A.P.S.
As Lycoming Animal Protection Society is a non-profit organization completely operated by volunteers, your help and support is always needed. Whether through financial support or through the donation of materials used in the direct care of our residents, we cannot do it without you. Here are some ways you can help:
- Adoption - Adopt a New Best Friend! LAPS has many wonderful felines
that would love to have an opportunity to meet you and, hopefully, win
their way into your heart and home. Click
here to read more about adopting a LAPS kitten or cat. If you have
any questions about adoption, please email us at adoption@lapsshelter.org
- Sponsor a kitty - If you can't adopt due to allergies or already have
a pet and don't feel that you can bring another into your home but you
would still like to help, LAPS has a sponsorship program that may meet
your needs. Click here for
more about sponsoring a kitty.
- Donate - As a no-kill organization, LAPS provides housing, food, companionship, and medical care for an indefinite period of time, sometimes for the balance of an animal's life. Some of the shelter residents may be hard-to-place due to age, personality, or disability. As long as a good quality of life is possible, the kitty will always have a home with proper veterinary care, regular vaccines, a healthy diet, spaying/neutering, and other necessary care. This can all be costly but it is the commitment of the organization.
Paypal has provided a mechanism where you can donate on-line to help LAPS continue providing the needed care for our residents.
Please help by clicking on the DONATE button. A new secure browser window will open for the PayPal site with "Lycoming Animal Protection Society" at the top of the page - just fill in the requested information, including donation description and amount. Come back to this window to continue your visit at LAPS. Donations can be made from this site by either credit card or your own personal Paypal account.
- Volunteer - VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED!!!!! If you have some time, LAPS could use your help. Good volunteers are
always in short supply and the regular folks could really use some assistance.
The kitties in residence are always grateful for love from new friends
and will do their best to make you feel loved and needed.
Please come meet the shelter residents and let them know how much you care. They really love company and, who knows, maybe one of them could find a new home with you and show you just what you've been missing. Click here for a PDF file of the Volunteer Application. You can print it out, fill it in, and mail it to LAPS. If you have any questions about volunteering, please email us at volunteers@lapsshelter.org

otherwise, we have to pay to dispose of items that aren’t sellable.
